A day of nothingness

My friend told me on Facebook that he tested positive for Covid. I didnt buy it. But after some minutes I couldnt resist but call him and he was like “Naah, just joking”. And he says, “Maybe we should post it on Facebook. Just “Positive” not mentioning anything other and see how people react.” It`s a fun idea though, someone should try that.

Then my friend asks “What did you do today?”

I said, “Nothing.”

He goes “Movies or series?”

“Naah”

“Did you read?”

I said “Nope” with some guilt in my voice. I should`ve read.

He asks “Well you must have at least done something?”

Then I realized I literally did nothing. For a moment I looked up at the ceiling and thought of something that would classify but no, not a darn thing. Just a day lying on my back as the hour hand circumambulates.

Some of my friends suggest me to read books, write fiction, watch a series and all. I always ignore the former ones. And for the latter, “Bitch please.” Over the years, I think Ive watched around 50+ shows so I guess Ive pretty much mastered the art. And suggestions, theyre fine but until I ask for them, you dont have to wank.

These days, theres so much fiddle-faddle about productivity on the internet. Everybodys like, you gotta utilize the time. You have to be creative. I agree with them. We can tick a whole lot of things off our bucket list. But the problem with me is Im lethargic these days. This whole quarantine thing is somehow eating me up. Not a single activity excites me. Im a misanthrope and even ‘going out and having fun’ isnt my kinda thing. This baffles me. I shouldnt be in the state which Im currently in. This used to recharge me but its the contrast. So, for starters, I`m trying to figure out what the hell is wrong with me. Along the way, I hope I can root out the ‘lousy’ in me and then things will start unfolding. And some people, even go to the extent of saying “ Do something, this time won’t come again.” Frankly, the fuck is wrong with these people? No one wants a sequel to this.

At the end of the day, I`m always glad. I did the bigger picture. I stayed home. I survived. And I hope you all do the same.
